There was little to no wind on the night with a tide ebbing up to 2100 hours. Consequently the fifteens (six in all) didn''t get to a finish.
There was a good turnout from the cruisers ie eleven in all, however because of the dropping light winds and the ebbing tide only one each managed to struggle through to a finish ie Material Gain - Gerard Byers (IRC) and Wandering Angus - David Kelly (PY).

Last nights cruiser and ff racing has to be called off due to wind conditions. Hopefully we will have better luck next week on Wednesday the 13th! Same time same place.

Wednesday night cruiser series starts Wednesday May 6th at 19.30 hours.

| Opening Day [02/05/2009] |
Our opening day saw a fantastic turn out from our cruser and Flying Fifteen classes.
John Millar and Absolutely won Channel One, with the big boats in the water this year it was great to see such a big turn out. Jessie Murray and Becy Boo won the PY class, which saw four boats make the start. Their was a great turn out for the Flying Fifteen''s, including boats form Killyleagh and Strangford. Andrew McCleary of KYC won with Shane McCarthy and Jeremy Rodgers the first Portaferry boat home in third, behind Gerry Rielly from SSC.
The club would like to thank all the sailors who turned out for a great day.
It would also like to thank Kieran Gilmore who was race officer for the day. The members who made sandwiches and the bar staff.
